We call it the “Permanent” filter because, well, it’s extremely durable, easy to clean and will last for a long time. The TarGard Permanent Cigarette Filter is the original cigarette filter that launched TarGard back in 1963. Still, to this day, the TarGard Permanent Filter is the only reusable cigarette filter available.
TarGard’s world famous Permanent Cigarette Filter is durable, easy to use, and simple to clean. Take good care of it, and it will last you for years and years!  This unique cigarette filter launched the TarGard brand way back in 1963, and to this day, it is still the only high-quality, reusable cigarette filter available in the USA!
This listing is for 2 Permanent Filter systems from TarGard (Tar Guard).  Our Permanent Filters fit all standard cigarette brands.
The Permanent Filter System comes complete with each of the following:
1 Clear Mouthpiece
1 Black Mouthpiece
1 Metal Filter Insert
1 Black O-Ring
All of our parts are designed and manufactured to hold up to heavy use, but if you keep your Permanent Filter long enough, eventually you may need replacements. For your convenience, we offer each part listed above for sale separately, at extremely reasonable prices.
To clean your TarGard Permanent Cigarette Filter, twist the mouthpiece and metal insert in opposing directions while pulling them apart. Once apart, clean both using a cotton swab and hot soapy water. Use rubbing alcohol if needed. Allow the filter to completely dry before using it again.
Not interested in cleaning your filter when you’re away from home? Many users keep a second “travel filter” with them as a back until they have time to clean their primary filter.
Obviously, every smoker is different in terms of what brands they smoke and how hard they draw. We’ve heard from loyal customers they can smoke between 10 and 15 cigarettes between cleanings.  Your experience may vary.
